His Footprints, My Heart...

"Peace Speaker"
I heard that song, "Peace Speaker", on the radio this morning on my way to work. It seemed that their "theme" on the radio was "peace" this morning.... and wouldn't you know it, that's just what I needed on my drive in to work... isn't that just like God?? I recently had a couple of fender benders on my way to work and let's just say driving in Atlanta traffic every day is not one of my favorite past-times these days. Every time I get into the driver's seat I pray for Him to help me to drive safely as well as the others around me, to put a hedge of protection around me and my car, to give me heightened awareness of what's going on around me, and to help me to react appropriately and quickly. Today seemed like an especially stressful driving day. Maybe it's because we were "plagued" with an ice storm here in the southern U.S., not something we see often, and driving conditions over the weekend were rather "yucky" to put it mildly. So, while I was traveling 60 mph in a 55 mph zone, being passed on all sides by others going "way over 60 mph", I must admit that I was a bit frightened. But God.... one of my favorite phrases.... but God, in His infinite faithfulness, kept me safe AND gave me His "peace that passes all understanding". Then it came to mind that the same prayer I pray each time I get into the car is the same prayer I should be praying for every day life. God's peace is perfect, all the time, in every way, in every circumstance. Whether big or small to us or to others, God's perfect peace is just that.... perfect. I'm glad that I know the peace speaker, I know Him by name, and He knows me by name... better than I know myself.
